72 Hours: Nashville Eats

Nashville in 3 days! So much to eat!! I’ll get the hot chicken out of the way quickly: we went to Hattie B’s. We waited in the long line and while it was good, it was nothing special. We were told by a few locals that Prince’s Hot Chicken is the original and far superior. I have added that to the long list of missed stops, plus some new openings for the next trip. Here are some restaurants I tried in the short trip that I would recommend!

Butcher & Bee

My favorite meal of the 3 days in Nashville. Even if you only get their spicy whipped feta appetizer. It was recommended to us by a few people, so we knew we had to try it. One of the foods I won’t ever forget. Topped with house fermented honey and mixed with herbs, it’s seriously delightful. Served with warm, thick pita. I’d fly back just for that! We all also enjoyed our entrees. I had the mushroom toad in the hole toast. Their house-made chai is another must try. (Had it dirty, with a shot of espresso!) The atmosphere and service was also really great.

The Soda Parlor

I might not run back here as it’s definitely a novelty, but a fun stop to check out once! They make all sorts of floats and "moon" shakes (dairy free options too!) They use local soda & ice creams and top with house-made whip! I had the "Freaking Fosters" which is the orange soda float, and it was so good. If anything, for the gram.

Mas Tacos, Por Favor!

Cheap. Fresh. Flavorful. Fun. I’d definitely come back here on the next visit! Awesome locals spot for authentic Mexican food. I had two tacos + street corn and it came to $9! The street corn was perfectly spicy and the fried avocado taco was so unique and delicious! We also shared fried plantains which were very good. Unfortunately, they don’t have a website or menu posted online and the line can be a little long, but it's definitely worth it!!

Definitely my favorite stop in Nashville all around. Amazing teas & elixirs, unique and relaxing atmosphere, there's nothing else like it! There's a tea shoppe in the front and a bar in the back which serves handcrafted, organic potions with unique ingredients. They were so delicious and not to mention stunning! We had the "Flower Child" + "Sugar Plum Fairy". I can not wait to come back again to try them all and maybe pick up some tea! If I lived here, I'd be here all the time. Obsessed with the vintage + earthy vibes.

The cutest booths! Also -- take note, no WiFi.

Rosemary & The Beauty Queen

$$ (10-25) | 1102 Forrest Ave, East Nashville, Tennessee 37206.

A local bar with fun cocktails! We were confused when our Uber driver dropped us off — it's inside a Victorian-style home! Cool interior & vibe. Definitely would come again for drinks. Loved the 3 + 9: bourbon, amaretto, fresh orange + lemon.

Milk & Honey

It was pouring rain & the line at Biscuit Love was crazy long! Luckily, down the street is Milk and Honey. It was also on our list and it didn’t disappoint! I had the burnt sugar latte and it was amazing! Similar to a smoked caramel and not too sweet at all. Food was also very good -- loved the pesto and egg combo on toast! Our server was fantastic. They also have an adorable to-go window to grab lattes + pastries.

Home of the 100 layer doughnuts! I had the maple - it was reallllly good but also very sweet! Not going to run back since I've been once, but definitely worth the stop for sure! They sell out of their daily flavors quick, so go early if you can!
